farewells, aperos, and finally made it to stuttgart

so, a week of goodbyes. basically in switzerland, whenever there is a reason to celebrate e.g. birthday, welcomes, goodbyes etc. they have these things called 'aperos' at your workplace where you bring in snacks and drinks to share with your coworkers and colleagues. of course, as interns we weren't going to let this opportunity pass us up. it started on a monday, with steve's apero in quadro. the goal of this one was to finish all the beer that he had brought over from the mullerbrau store. hanging out at ziegel-d after that, pretty good times just chillin and enjoying the last few days of being able to. tuesday was chris and pat's apero.

wednesday was a combined apero with me, luke and bianca since we all work on the same team. pretty much just bought way to much beer, and dragging those cases home were a struggle. the party itself was pretty good, brought our laptops in and showed our pictures of the year to our bosses, got a nice alstom swiss army knife, a sigg bottle, and some delicious local baked goods. had some awkward conversations about my future plans and general life topics.

this weekend was the last weekend of this spring festival "fruhlingsfest" in stuttgart. since i had missed the previous week's trip, we made another journey. picked up some new interns, headed off to germany on all the IR trains so that the tickets would be 5 for 25 euro...so cheap. rainy weekend in stuttgart - dropped off stuff at the hostel then immediately head down to the fair grounds, for food, beer, and carnival rides - what else. hopped on the "slingshot" ride which was hilariously fun, then proceeded to the beer tents for a good night of singing, dancing, and making friends with german people. stumbled home, woke up the next day to head right back.
